Biography

The Kaps are not your average, everyday, rap/hip-hop group. When asked to describe their music, original was the first word that came to mind. "We are inspired by all the great artists that have come before us, but our style is all our own. We've taken issues that we all face; The good, the bad, and the ugly, and put them on paper and related it into song. We have all grown up listening to music that inspired us when we felt on top of the world and helped us through tough times. We hope to create songs that will do that for this generation."

The Kaps was started by Troy Williams "Beijing" and Ronnie Teague "Mr. Etneez" in 2006. Ron Allgood "AllGood" joined the group in 2007 and together they cut their first mixtape, "Krooked Kapitol Punishment - Mixtape: Volume 1" in 2008. DJ K Yung (who is an official DJ for Sprint Radio, US Cellular Radio, G-Unit Records, Future Star Radio, and Airstrike DJs) featured their first single "Fly High" on KALA 88.5FM directly after the album release. Currently, they are working on a second mixtape to be released mid-2009. They plan to use their creativity, motivation, and talents to put the Quad City area on the map.

In February of 2009, local artist Big Sleazy signed on as part of The Kaps to add to their already diverse sound, and replacing AllGood. The Kaps are currently working on new music for the Street Addict mixtape series, then will be doing more shows and pursuing other avenues to further their promising career. They are also working on another mixtape of their own, as well as starting work on an EP.
