Carl Story became famous for his signature blend of gospel infused bluegrass. His forty-plus years in the music industry began as a child, watching his mother and father perform guitar and fiddle at local square dances. By the time Story was nineteen, he had joined the well-known Lonesome Mountaineers. After a brief hiatus in the U.S. Navy in 1943, Carl returned to America and reformed the flagship band we have come to know and love, the Rambling Mountaineers.

The Essential Carl Story presents fans with some his best and most beautiful bluegrass melodies. From the heartfelt “Somebody Touched Me” to the sweetly spiritual “Gone Home”, this album will stir your heart and lift your spirit.
