TaMyya J, born LaTasha Myya Johnson in New Jersey, USA is a singer; songwriter and arranger on her debut CD entitled "SUDDENLY" which features inspirational, contemporary and traditional genre.
In 1996, when TaMyya J was just 14 years old, TaMyya’s first introduction to the professional music industry was when she was honored the 1st Place prize for the Youth Division at the McDonalds Gospelfest which was held at New York City, Madison Square Garden where she had the honor of appearing on stage with Karen Clark-Sheard, Timothy Wright and Hezekiah Walker. Since that time, she has ministered in song at events throughout the United States and has shared the stage as an opening act for or as a co-featured artist with many artists such as Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Deitrick Haddon, Kim Burrell, Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett & GA, Trinity 5:7, Donald Lawrence, Richard Smallwood, Hezekiah Walker, and Byron Cage just to name a few.

TaMyya's focus is to spread the gospel across the world through the ministry of song, particularly to the young and young at heart. TaMyya attends college in New Jersey, and serves her Church faithfully as a Praise & Worship Leader and choir member. Her first single release "More Than You’ll Ever Know" reached the number one positions at radio stations across the country (WXEZ-FM, WIMG, WUSL-FM, WNAP), as well as number one on Internet radio stations. Number one position on Download.com, Soundclick.com and as a best-seller on Tower.com. Her CD “SUDDENLY” is available throughout the world on Walmart.com and iTunes as well as other major internet markets and distributors. The number 2 song from her CD entitled “The Reason” was selected for inclusion on the compilation CD “Gospel Skate Jams, Vol. 2” which is Nominated “2008 Stellar Award” category #24, Best Hip Hop CD of the Year!

In 2005, 2006 and 2007, TaMyya was selected by Fashion Fair Cosmetics, a division of Johnson & Johnson Publishing Company, publishers of EBONY and JET magazines and creators of the largest Black-owned cosmetics company in the world for women of color, to kick-off their Spring Cosmetic Campaign by offering three songs from her CD as a gift to their valued customers and by appearing at major departments stores across the country taking pictures and doing CD and autograph signings.

TaMyya has been involved in community events by ministering before the New Jersey Mayor, the Philadelphia Mayor and ministering at Philadelphia Historic Penn Landing events, Police Athletic League; and African Heritage Cultural Extravaganzas, as well as The Safe-House Program in Champagne, Illinois where the program has a 95% success rate working with disadvantage, homeless and drug abused individuals.

TaMyya performed as special guest artist for the talent search competition, ”Americas Anointed” for the past two years. She also performed in the stage play “Who Do You Love” starring Erica Campbell. (2007).

TaMyya would say, I was singing before I could talk and I can’t imagine a life without music. I believe that anointed music is what pleases God and pleasing Him is my desire. TaMyya has shared her gift as a background singer for multi-award winner Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Minister John Gray and is currently singing background for multi-award winners Mary Mary.
