Biography
ounded in 1992, "Smokin Joe" set out to be a band that brought the hot new country music of the nineties to central Pennsylvania. The bands driving motive was to create a show that would blow people away. Anyone who saw the band perform would tell you that they accomplished what they set out to do. Performing, primarily in clubs and taverns, in the early years, the band attracted a loyal following. Over the years, the band has evolved into a new band, and has moved the show out of the clubs, and onto the fair and festival circuit.
Smokin' Joe has been North Central Pennsylvania's hottest country act and has carried that distinction into the new millennium. "The Wild Horse Band" provides hard driving "smokin" country music ."Smokin Joe" and The Wild Horse Band have opened for country music stars, Charlie Daniels, Ty England, Daryl Singeltary, and Ken Mellons to name a few. The band specializes in the music of Garth Brooks, The man who has defined country music of the nineties.
Talented lead singer, Joe Meholick, does an exceptional job on songs by Alan Jackson, John Michael Montgomery, Dwight Yoakum, and Montgomery Gentry. These guys are not new comers. In addition to Joe's 31 years of experience, the band adds a combined total of 172 years of musical experience!
