Biography
When disaster struck in 2007 in the form of a serious motorcycle accident, guitarist Brian Cameron was informed that he’d never walk again–not news that anyone wants to hear, much less a musician serious about an entertainment career! His stubborn defiance and tenacious determination helped him prove his doctors wrong; Brian was performing again within a few months and out of his wheelchair completely by 2009. He and his brother, bassist Mark Wilson, had been bandmates as teens but had taken separate paths as adults. Brian’s brush with mortality and disabilitybrought about renewed focus and determination. Formation of a band was discussed during Brian’s hospital stay, and after some prodding from long time friend and manager Alan “Killer” Kilcrease, the siblings committed to establishing a band built for success and longevity. Musicianship, discipline, professionalism, reliability and a strong work ethic were key tenets as Brian and Mark combed the Atlanta music scene for A-list artists to fill out their roster. Drummer/vocalist Gary Chumney and vocalist/guitarist Nathan Morgan were ultimately selected, and out of the rubble of personal disaster, the band Reluctant Saints was born in the summer of 2010. These talented musicians have been garnering attention opening for esteemed acts such as Blackberry Smoke, Gretchen Wilson, Marty Stuart, Steel Magnolia, and more.

Reluctant Saints released its debut album, “Long Drive” in 2011 to critical acclaim. Rob Johnson effused over the band’s “instantly accessible, hook-laden songwriting and sweet harmony vocals” as well as “catchy” “Allman-esque harmony guitars” in his review of the Saints in issue #68 of Hittin’ The Note Magazine. Much like the famous country rock band, the Eagles, all four RS band members sing lead and harmonies extremely well and are masters of their instruments. Their studio chops are well proven and their high-energy stage presence and ability to connect with their audience are reminiscent of bands with a far longer history together.

Reluctant Saints plays “Georgia music,” a blend of rock, country, blues, and soul. The most recent single, “Outlaw,” reflects the band’s independent spirit…it grabs listeners by the nape of the neck, swings ‘em up in the saddle, and takes ‘em along on a wild ride. This is music guaranteed to make people shut up, stand up, take notice and dance–with free-spirited joy.
