Biography
THE AUSTRALIANACITY OF HOPE-A QUICK GUIDE TO INDIE AUSTRALIA is a compilation CD from PLUS ONE RECORDS, featuring eight of their top alt rock bands, created exclusively to unleash their eclectic Aus-alt on US radio starting this spring.

PLUS ONE RECORDS, Indie Rock label from Brisbane, Australia. Bands run from alt to folk, with a basis in the hard blues driven rock that permeates the Australian music scene, and signature blazing vocals and vocal harmonies.

PLUS ONE RECORDS is driven by Simon Homer, the wizard of Oz from Brisbane behind the curtain. Simon Homer and Denise Foley, who run the label together, have already made their names in Australia. They were founders of Skinnys Records, the now legendary music store in Brisbane.

Plus One Records individual bands have already laid the foundation for an international presence, with tours and releases in Canada, Europe, and Japan, and US radio. For example, INTERCOOLER was the featured artist of a two hour special by Nic Harcourt on KCRW when they were in the US for their CMJ Marathon appearance in New York. THE GIN CLUB made their US live debut in summer 2008 at the House of Blues during Musexpo in Hollywood, California. Currently The Gin Club song You, Me and the Sea is making a splash on Australian radio. Side projects of Plus One Records bands include An Horse, on another label, who played on Letterman on March 11, 2009.
