Biography
Still havin' fun in their 39th year, with 2 of 4 original members Larry Hoppen (lead singer of the hits) and Lance Hoppen. John Hall departed (2006) when elected to the US Congress (D-NY19). Sadly, drummer Wells Kelly passed on in 1984. Lance and Larry now tour with youngest brother Lane on keys, Charlie Morgan (formerly with Elton John, etc.) on drums, and Dennis "Fly" Amero filling the slot created by Hall's departure. The "Dancin in the Moonlight" CD (2005) was the band's first studio release in 10 years. Since then, they have released both a live DVD and CD entitled "We're Still Havin' Fun", captured just prior to John's election and as Fly was re-entering the band (he had spent 2 years in that spot in the early 80's). Another recent release is a collection of unheard studio tracks from '77 to '08 entitiled "Obscurities", including "The Moment" ... the first new master recording from Orleans since Hall's departure. Still active and touring the globe, that vocal sound from Dance with Me, Still the One, etc. is alive and well along with great songwriting and terrific playing. Check out the whole catalog at the band's site.
