Biography
Nicole-Marie's second CD release "All the Lights of Heaven" is quite a departure from her first album "Storybook". Whereas Storybook was a no-frills mix of folk rock and hip hop music, on this new album, this singer/songwriter from Tacoma, Washington decided to focus on writing songs of a spiritual nature that promote healing. The title track was written after studying "A Course in Miracles". It was written as she was about to have her annual CT scan for a history of cancer. The second track, "Christian Child - By You" was inspired by her work with children as a mental-health therapist. The third and most popular track "White Light" was written just after she was diagnosed with Cancer. Nicole-Marie is a cancer survivor who performs her songs in small venues in the Tacoma/Seattle area. She has been compared to Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy and Chrissie Hynde. She is inspired by the fore-mentioned artists as well as Alanis Morrisette, John Denver, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Rob Thomas and many others artists. Nicole-Marie aims to write more esoteric Christian songs that focus on improving the world from the inside out. Her interest in shadow psychology has her also focused on modeling the need to accept one’s own dark sides in order to become a whole person.
