Biography
Monsters In The Attic are a London based trio who play up-beat rock n' roll with hard rock influences, riding between down-strung punk beats and power ballad harmonic melodies. Inspired by bands such as the
Rocket From The Crypt,
AC/DC and even
The Beach Boys, they sing tongue-in-cheek songs about riding your luck, zombie girlfriends back from the dead and generally being bad-ass.
After touring the Camden circuit for the past few years, making notable appearances at the
Purple Turtle,
The Barfly, the
Mean Fiddler and even headlining at
The Underworld, they are ready to take their act to the next level. This year, they will be rerecording & re-releasing their third E.P,
‘Be Lucky', containing the rebel rousing
‘Be Lucky’, booze fueled
‘Mojito’ and epic
‘Tell Jules’. The band plan to put their day-jobs on hold and and tour Spain & Portugal.
Composed of cockney singer
Patch Barbet,
John Frusciantesque lead-guitar
Tom Walding and blues-inspired bassist
Ben Wooster, this band is spear-heading a mission to punch the fun back into rock n' roll and offer a refreshing alternative to stereotypically stroppy-faced musicians. Their hedonistic approach hasn't gone unnoticed either, as the band were voted top band of 2008 by
Total Rock’s NWO Show and boast over 600 fans on their mailing list. With natural charm transgressing the stage and great audience interaction, they whip-up crowds into an infectious frenzy and have even swayed more reserved listeners into lightening up and having fun.
Despite being on the search for a new drummer, after
Hiku returned to his native Brazil last September, the
Monsters have been playing a string successful gigs with temporary replacements and will also begin a series of acoustic shows in January, adding flamenco flavour and bluegrass rhythm to their rock repertoire.
Dispensing with traditional distribution methods,
‘Be Lucky'' will only be available on USB sticks containing songs, videos and other interactive content, although users may also access songs and videos via the
Monsters In The Attic MySpace and
YouTube pages.
