Biography
K.Nix is arguably one of the greatest story tellers to emerge in the underground hip hop scene since Slick Rick! He Bears an incredible swagger that undoubtedly sets himself apart from many of his ATL contour parts who haven’t mastered the art of pronunciation. With a sensual tone, a mad vocab and tangled metaphors, he normally has the ladies begging for another 16 bars! K.NIX, aka Kevin Nixon, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and since the age of 4 has been raised in the ATL. K.Nix and his older brother were raised primarily by his mother. Growing up in and around ATL has been a great experience for K.Nix. He has seen it grow in all areas, from the grimiest of grime to glitz and glamour. From projects like East Lake Meadows to High rises in Buckhead. By experiencing and observing the cultures of both and all in between, he focuses on bonding us all together with common ground and common sense lyrics. Since the age of 10, he has played percussion instruments which give him the foresight to make crazy drum patterns on the instrumental he produces, like M Holla’s “That's Gwap”. He developed his style of poetry when he was 14. Understanding basic poem structure provided him the insight to write sicker rhyme verses and patterns. It was not until he attended college that he decide to make Hip Hop his career. He majored in audio/visual broadcasting at Fort Valley State University which kept him around a mic and a studio. The atmosphere nutured his passion for music and soon enough, he decided that Hip Hop is no part time lover! He went to work hitting different studios in Georgia laying 16’s (bars) down wherever he could. You can say that he got his “Busta Rhymes On” with different crews and even having his own crew. Performing different venues on a regular fostered K.Nix ability to be an incredible performer that leaves the crowd feeling hype, but relaxed at the same time. We call that the Amaretto flow which K.Nix has perfected! He is more focused than ever and more clever than before! Now that K.Nix has the perfect fit of artists surrounding him, he is ready to step up and be the mouthpiece for the grown, sexy and responsible! The phrase "Product of my environment, but child of GOD" is a motto that reminds him to remember the ultimate goal in life. Now a little older, he is at his prime and is ready to entertain while speaking with positive purpose. He currently resides in Dale City, Va, where he utilizes his artistic talent to speak ..xperiences, present tribulations and future outlooks. Veteran artists see the world differently than others and that's why he is an outcast and a renegade on society restraints.
