Biography
Jay Parmar is a professional guitarist dedicating his time between teaching guitar and writing/recording/producing music. Influenced by acclaimed guitar players such as George Lynch, Steve Vai and Steve Stevens, Jay's style reflects the elements of the virtuoso playing from the 80s era, but combines this with exotic, eastern and modern sounds and techniques to create his own blend of melodic instrumental rock.

He self released his first solo album "Strange Day" in 2005. Blood, sweat and tears went into the CD which had listeners turning up the volume knob and guitarists reaching for their guitars. It showcases Jays skills as a guitar player, writer, engineer and producer. The songs are fresh and new, whilst retaining the virtuosity of Jays heroes. The CD established Jay as a world class musician and was received very well by press, fans and the industry alike and gained praise from professional musicians.

In the past year Jay has stepped away from his previous career to work exclusively in music. In addition to being a recording artist, Jay now teaches guitar. He has also recorded music for a fitness training DVD and will be recording more music for DVDs in 2007.

Jay is currently working on the follow up album to Strange Day. The new album which will feature vocals as well as virtuosic guitar playing and will include guest appearances by some of his favourite and most admired musicians.

Jays previous projects include the George Lynch tribute album Will Play For Lynch; he has recorded solos for rock band Wycked Synn, has traded solos on Twilight Odysseys cover version of the Dokken song Unchain The Night, and has recently featured on Now Hear This! Volume 2 a compilation album released by independent label Futurama Records.

Jay is endorsement by Randall USA Amplifiers and Bare Knuckle Pickups, and Elixir Guitar Strings.
