There is no longer a reason to be afraid of what the future rock generations will become, as long as the guys from Fading Faith are present to inspire them. This band, whose name symbolizes the ‘fading faith’ in the goodness of people, and the band’s own experiences of ups and downs in their lives; fuses early heavy metal and hardcore metal with intense lyrical melodies. “We put a lot of thought into our lyrics, there’s always an experience, point of view, or deep emotional tie to what we say in our songs.” Some of their popular musical influences include Metallica, Korn, AC/DC, The Doors, and Ozzy Osbourne, to name a few.
The individual members from the band come from all over the nation, but currently reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band is composed of: Josh on vocals and guitar, Phil on drums, Andy on lead guitar, and Greg playing bass. Each member has brought their own unique musical background to contribute to the band’s overall sound, ensuring originality and variety in their music. The guys’ love for music is apparent, as playing in this band is more than just a pastime activity for them. They invest emotion. They dedicate their time, and they apply true technique into their sound. “We want the music to support the lyrics and emphasize the emotion of the song, pulling it together as one cohesive thought.” Fading Faith released one album in September of 2006, and is currently working towards releasing a second CD in the summer of 2009.
Fading Faith’s material is based on life’s trials and tribulations, making their music relatable to a wide audience, as every song has its own, unique message. The band’s writing capability is what they believe sets them apart from others in the industry. But more importantly, they say it’s their live, raw energy and ability to rock hard for “a crowd of 2 or 2,000 people,” that makes them far more superior. Fading Faith emphasizes their cohesiveness as a band by saying, “We know we are only as good as each other.” Their goal as a band is to play music for the rest of their lives, and make a living from it. They ultimately strive to inspire future generations of music, and have their music resonate with the iconic reverberations of those that have inspired them.
