Biography
Ebony & Ivory is Fred Jacobowitz on sax and clarinet, and Andrew Gilpin on piano/keyboards. We play "instrumental fusion", a unique mix of styles that includes jazz, Gershwin, ragtime, original tunes, Benny Goodman and Broadway.
Fred, from Raleigh, NC, has two degrees from Juilliard, while Andrew, based near Toronto, Ontario, was completely self-taught in music. These two artists from different countries and with very different backgrounds have teamed up as Ebony & Ivory, and the result is nothing short of remarkable.
