Biography
Dunia Molina was born in Rome (Italy) 16 september 1981.
“Dunia” means life or the world in arabic and Indian. Her origins are Arabian, greek and Spanish. As a child she makes up and sings her own songs, but in puberty, singing is to become an important emotional outlet for her, where she is able to express her frustration if things turn out badly.
She use to say “ I’m not a technical singer I’m just the voice of my experiences and I need to sing about them”.
She started singing with an old school blues band when she was 15 years old.
Raw and pure, oozing passion and possessed with an outstanding voice, that can combine the earthy emotions within the blues with straight up rock and flowing funky rhythms, but also incorporates such diverse influences such as hip-hop and ska.
She signed with the indie record label Blond Records in 2001 and she realized her first album with a rock band called Chakra.
In 2002 she left the band and she started workin’ on her own Italian project. In 2004 she had a great collaboration with PFM (one of the most famous Italian bands in the World) and she performed with them at the Fabrizio De Andrè Tribute day (The most famous Italian singer/songwriter).

The year after she became part of one of the best Italian world music band Enrico Capuano e la Tammurriatarock (more then 100 concerts every year) and she performed with them at the Rai Tv Show “Primo maggio” with an incredible audience ( more then 3 million people).
In 2008 the most important Italian medias started to talk about her talent and original personality, she has been recognized “The best female indie italian performer” and she won different types of awards.
In 2010 she wrote a couple of dance songs in Miami with the grammy award producer Ill Factor (Ricky Martin, J.Timberlake,etc.).
Her musical influences includes Anouk, Police, King Crimson, Beatles, The Cure, etc.
In 2010 she produced her own Italian tracks with the help of David Bianco (Bob Dylan sound engineer) and she signed a music publishing agreement with Love Cat Music New York an international contributor to movies and tv projects such as Sex and The City, Dr. House, etc.
In 2009 she felt the need to start writing in Spanish and English too (no just in Italian) and she discovered her love for the latin world…

She’s really ready for the meanstream!
