Biography
Dexter Green has quickly become one of most promising young rock, pop, and country writer/producers in America. His recent writing and production credits can be found on "Follow", the latest CD from 21 year old Texan Johnny Cooper. The CD has been getting rave reviews and Johnny was named in the top 100 unsigned acts in the U.S. by Musician Connection Magazine. "Follow" is indeed an eclectic, sharply crafted and surprisingly mature album" -Lubbock News. "The record is a confident blend of R&B, blues, rock and pop. The songs are sturdy, the hooks are hearty and the general vibe is robust.-Dallas Morning News.
Dexter co-wrote and produced Collective Soul's CD "Youth" including the band's Top 10 single "Better Now". "Better Now" broke the Top 10 on the Billboard charts, scored a #1 position in Canada, was featured in Wes Craven’s film, Cursed and had a year long run in a series of commercials for Kelloggs.
In addition to Collective Soul, Dexter has also worked with Atlantic Records pop artist Leslie Mills, multiple Grammy Award winner Rebecca Lynn Howard, Atlantic/Photofinish Rock/Punk outfit New Medicine, Atlantic Records, pop artist Leslie Mills, Arista Country artist Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Atlanta indie favorites Five Star Iris.
A graduate of New York’s Manhattan School of Music Dex is as adept at writing string arrangements as he is at laying down his signature guitar work. As if that weren’t enough, Dexter is one of the top composers/writers of ad music. His commercial credits include spots for Dodge, Ford, Toyota, O’Charlie’s, Mattel, Folgers and Coors Light.
Dex is currently producing Stillwater Oklahoma's No Justice and currently has a #1 single on the Texas Music Chart as a producer of Bart Crow with a song entitled "Sayin Goodbye."
