Biography
Detachment Theory is a four-piece band from the Baltimore Maryland area which formed from members of previous projects (Episode One & Upside Out) banding together to birth a new sound from Maryland. Detachment Theorys heavy rock sound is a hybrid of styles that meld the heavy blues tones of groups such as Black Sabbath, the Obsessed and Kyuss together with the cutting raw energy from groups such as Helmet, Pantera and Quicksand. The combination produces a unique but familiar context that seems to translate well with Metal, Stoner Rock and general heavy rock enthusiasts. Live the band is nothing short of aggressive and loud while sounding very similar to their recordings. In 2005 the band recorded with engineer and producer Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park Nothingface - Jawbox) in Baltimore Maryland. Promotional songs are a sample from that performance and recordation. The band's full length album to be released in early 2007 on Buried by Sound (Independent).
