D-Boyz Entertainment
Biography
Straight from the gritty melting pot of New Orleans, the D-Boyz’ music is full of stories depicting the lifestyle of the street hustler and the dire consequences that often accompany it.

Composed of two former Cash Money artists, Stone and Lac, the D-Boyz formed as a result of the immense public support they received after constantly being featured on the same songs. Raw and uncompromising, the D-Boyz bring you tales of urban tragedy that they live through and observe on a daily basis.

In describing their music, Stone asserts, “Our music represents us and where we come from. This is a struggle… I understand that if you go about getting things the wrong way, there are consequences behind what you’re doing. Don’t look at a picture and believe that you want to be that way if you don’t understand the struggle behind it.”

2008 marks a new era in the music business for Stone and Lac. In addition to the formation of their own record label, D-Boyz Entertainment, Stone and Lac are set to release their first album as the D-Boyz, entitled Life of a D-Boy. The album will feature collaborations with several former Cash Money artists including Jazzy Pha, Juvenile, BG, Strings, Mannie Fresh, TQ, Ms. Tee, Kango, Wacko, Skip, and Chain.

Having grown up in the Magnolia Projects of New Orleans with many of his Cash Money label mates, Stone actually started his career in music managing another artist for his friend, Souljah Slim. Over time, he developed his own love for recording and was soon invited to join Cash Money. During his tenure at Cash Money, Stone was featured on five multi-platinum albums and collaborated with The Hot Boys, Big Tymers, Juvenile, T.I. and Mac-10. Through his work with producers such as Mannie Fresh and Jazzy Pha, Stone gained invaluable experience in the writing and recording process.

As an original member of The Hot Boys and childhood friend of Brian “Baby” Williams, Lac co-wrote some of Cash Money’s early hits, including “#1 Stunna.” He also collaborated with many of Cash Money’s multi-platinum recording artists, toured the world, and made television appearances on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and Live at the Apollo.

The D-Boyz have recently signed a joint venture label deal with the 404 Music Network, which is an independent record label based out of Atlanta. MDI Distribution, also based out of Atlanta, will be handling national distribution for Life of a D-Boy, which is scheduled for a summer 2008 release. The first single off the album, “It’s Yo’ Money” is available online at www.dboyzent.com.
