Biography
Born in Nacogdoches, Texas, Chad Hammock officially began his music career in Waxahachie, TX when he was asked to record and release his original song "Carved in Stone" with Hat Creek Records back in 2004. From there he began writing and recording tunes for his first album titled Rough Cuts, which was released in January 2007. Among the list of original songs was also a previously unrecorded track written by Cody Canada of Cross Canadian Ragweed, as well as an acoustic cover of Steve Earle's Copperhead Road. Soon after joining Hat Creek in '04, Chad was sharing the stage with Texas Music greats such as Stoney LaRue, Jack Ingram, Cooder Graw, Jason Allen, Rusty Weir, Radney Foster, and John Christopher Davis, to name a few. "Carved in Stone" was featured on the syndicated CD Tex Radio Show, as well as song of the week two weeks in a row on L.A.'s Hot Country internet radio station. Chad made his live radio debut in April 2005 on 99.5 the Wolf's Front Porch Show hosted by Justin Frazell. Chad made his second appearance on the show in May live from WolfDance, with his third coming on June 17, 2007. Chad has entertained audiences in venues from the White Elephant and Jack's Off the Wall in Ft. Worth including being a part of the Clubhouse Concert Series, Love and War in Grapevine and Plano, the Texas Theater and Fat Moe's in Waxahachie, La Bodega, Midnight Rodeo, and Schotzi's in College Station, among others. Taking influences from musicians from across the spectrum including his dad Mike of the Johnny Rodriguez Band, many of todays Texas favorites such as Rodney Pyeatt, Walt Wilkins, LaRue and Ragweed, and yesterday's mainstays such as Ray Wylie Hubbard, Johnny Cash, The Eagles, The Band, The Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, Dylan, Seger, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many more, Chad puts together an original vocal sound and an energetic performance at acoustic shows with guitarist Austin Desguin, and full band shows as well. This solid duo are now living in College Station and continue to draw fans wherever they play.
