Biography
Ludacris, Greg Street, Teddy Riley and other established Atlanta producers have discovered something the rest of the music industry will soon find out: that Cap1 is an underground hip hop phenomena. After making his way back into the industry co-writing for Yung Berg's hit single, "Sexy Can I" Cap1 is set to reemerge as a boss in this hip hop game. Growing up in the grass roots of the south side of chicago, it wasn't hard for a young Cap1's curiosity to lean towards music. With a musician as a father and consistently being in the atmosphere of artistry, Cap1's fascination heightened and he became infatuated with the craft. Smitten by the mass appeal of old school rap legends such as Run-DMC and Slick Rick, he decided to try his hand at rapping. Free-styling came natural and those around took notice. This uncommon ability to flow paid off resulting in history being made: Cap1 became the first rapper signed to Motown Records. His lyricism became infectious and sparked the attention of one of the hottest hiphop magazines to date, The Source. This was a huge opportunity that was quickly obliged by the rookie to the rap game. The exposure of such a respected magazine would give him the credibility needed to enhance his notoriety. Soon after he opened his doors fo them to document his rise to fame and the realease of his debut album, Through the Eyes Of a Don. The hype around this project privileged cap1 to work with Jazze Pha, Twista, Shawwnna, and a host of others. The sophomore album, Theory of Life was released in 2003. Shortly after, cap1 went on a hiatus to enjoy fatherhood and vacate from the stresses of the music industry grind. So much effort was put into the industry with such little return, Cap1 concluded that a break was necessary. This decision proved to be almost fatal as the streeet's hustle became a alternative source of income. During a day of leisure, Cap1 was thrown into a van, abducted and tortured. An ironic turn for a father with an obvious skill that wouldn't result in such circumstances. Knowing this, another decision had to be made..and fast. Cap1 decided to take the same work ethic and hustle and apply it musically. So he took his journey on the road and started his next music venture in Atlanta, Ga. Cap1 is now co-owner of the Loud Pakk Entertainment. His smash hit "lipgloss and Ponytail" feat Bobby V. and produced by Nard and B crowned Cap1 hot 107.9 battleground champ, which is just a snippet of the success that's inevitable to come. Women are the foundation of his fan base and his loyalty provides them with quality music. With street anthems like "I'm Winning" feat Titi boi of Playaz circle and the Duffle Bag Boi compilation album in the works. Cap1's lyricism, hustle mentality and life experiences will play a major role in establishing his as a global superstar. Delivering his verbal assault musicall will result in the trendsetter branding a legacy
