*The Alternate Root's Top 20 Bands Pushing The Envelope and Top 100 Albums For 2013 - "Thayer writes deep, heavily textured music with complex layers both sonically and lyrically and has the band and the chops to pull it all together." - The Alternate Root

Bio:
Bow Thayer is a serious asset to Americana music. Since he moved to Vermont he has been a creative and cultural force and has churned out impressive albums both as a solo artist as well as with his former band 'Perfect Trainwreck'. American Songwriter wrote "this onetime Levon Helm compatriot is the best artist to come from new England in recent years." Bow likes to refer to his music as "Progressive Mountain Music" and hopes that the term will catch on. He is the inventor of the Bojotar (Eastwood/Airline Guitar Company) and the founder of the Tweed River Music Festival.

'The Source and the Servant' is a tribute album to two legends that have influenced Bow's development as an artist - Dock Boggs and Mississippi Fred McDowell. But this is not just a tribute album to pay homage to the foundations of American music. It is also an album that features Thayer's creative reinventions of the songs using acoustic and electric versions of the Bojotar.

This new album was originally not meant to go to radio, but with recent positive response, we're sending it out to radio. "While Boggs and McDowell are long gone, this album is a testament to their living legacies. The music is devoutly respectful, feels timeless, and sounds modern. Whatever 'the source' may be, Thayer has a clear open channel to it. May he keep bottling lightening and making magic for decades to come." (Seven Days)

The album marks Bow's 12th release.
