Biography
This multifaceted West Texas native wears several hats beyond the cowboy hat he dons on stage. Vince is a singer, father of three, husband to a Beautiful Girl (his wife Shawn) and serves as president and owner of Sharp Image Energy (SIE), a flourishing oil production and exploration company that has been in business for almost 20 years. His father, a welder and oil refinery worker for many years, introduced hard work to Vince as a young boy. However, this Texas Tea isn’t the only thing that runs through the Hatfield veins. Vince recalls fond memories of his mother, father and uncle playing music as far back as his toddler years.
Influenced by the likes of Merle Haggard and Marty Robbins, Vince started performing songs in front of his parents for fun, but this traditional family past-time quickly turned into something a bit more serious. Once he started recording in the studio at the age of 18, Vince had fallen in love with music.
With several projects under his belt, in 2010, the votes tallied up in Vince’s favor. He was awarded New Music Weekly’s “Breakthrough Artist of the Year.” He has worked alongside some of Nashville’s greatest musicians such as country Music Hall of Famer Charlie McCoy, Grammy, ACM and CMA award-winning guitarist Brent Mason and renowned bass player and band leader, Mike Chapman. Those collaborations have only made Vince’s musical career more commendable.
His newest single, Beautiful Girl, elaborates on how great life can be when there is a beautiful girl on your side. It’s no secret that his inspiration to record this song was his own wife, Shawn. The single will have guys grabbing their beautiful gals for a dance. During a previous project, Vince teamed up with Fathers Against Drunk Drivers (FADD) and donated all proceeds off the single, Through That Glass, to the organization. The album by the same title was produced by Grammy-nominated Eric Paul and charted three number one hits on New Music Weekly (NMW). The song tells the story of the too often occurring tragedy of drinking and driving. FADD made the track their official song for 2010 and 2011.
When he’s not in the studio, Vince and Shawn are raising three children (Emily, Zachary and Joshua) and they all live on the family’s EZJ Ranch (named after their children) in Big Spring, TX. “I always tell my children how important it is to follow their dreams wherever they take them.” It seems Vince has done nothing, but follow his own advice. Vince’s days are packed tight. He starts early in the office, then he’s off to the ranch to tend to the animals and he hangs his hat each night among his family. Somehow, among the juggling he still manages to find the time to pursue his dreams of a music career. Vince serves as a true testament to never giving up on your lifelong aspirations, especially when you have the support of those closest to you.
