Biography
Bahtyah


(Pronounced: Bah-tee-yah)


Was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois and
raised on the West Coast of Africa, in Liberia and
Ghana. Her father is a Ghanaian school teacher
and her mother is an African American
entrepreneur.

Bahtyah began singing and dancing at the age of 7.
During her life in Africa, she performed as a singer,
dancer and fashion model in various local and non
-local venues.

She has had the pleasure of performing as part of
the opening act for Kool and the Gang's 1989-1990
tour of Ghana, West Africa and as a back - up
dancer for well known Ghanaian singer, songwriter,
Asabia Croppa.


Bahtyah has been featured at
The Mustard Seed Café in
Solon, Ohio and The Snicker
Fritz Jazz Club in Cleveland,
Ohio where she sang along side
Cleveland's finest, Mr. Eddie
Bacchus Senior and his quartet.
Her musical influences include
but are not limited to; Sarah
Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Sade,
Kool and The Gang, Asabia
Croppa, Bob Marley and The
Wailers, Eryka Badu...
