Biography

Away With The Fairys is singer songwriter Murphy. Although he has worked with many musicians over the years from all over the world most recordings that you will find available was recorded with himself playing all instruments , unless otherwise stated.



He first played with a band back in Liverpool at the age of fifteen ,playing copy rock music from bands such as Deep Purple , Boston ,Toto and so on. This all came to an end when a bass player joined the band and changed the song keys to ones that he could sing and murphy could not as he didnt play any instruments at that time.



The bass player took control and the set became performances of such great numbers as "She ´ll be coming round the mountain when she comes." Murphy was demoted to backing vocals and then finally sacked from the band.



At this time he left school and went to work for a local theatre company which was comprised of twenty other actors ,amongst them a wonderful actor by the name of Andrew Schofield famouse at the time for playing Skully and who later on went to play such roles as Johnny Rotten in the film Sid and Nancy.



Although not playing any instruments Murphy sung in many theatre productions , Simon Zealot in the rock musical "Jesus Christ superstar" for one example.



Later he auditioned and was accepted at the "East 15 acting school" where he crossed paths with Damon Albarn pre Blur ,Gorillaz , and now of The Good the bad and the Queen"



This meeting was to rekindle Murphy´s interest in performing music and Albarn and Murphy rehearsed and improvised many a song during there time together at "East 15"



Albarn dropped out of "East 15" after one year and asked Murphy to leave with him so as to form a band. Although Murphy knew that Albarn was going to be a star he declined the offer choosing instead to continue his education in classical theatre.



Upon graduation Murphy went to work for a number of theatre companies in London before returning to his native city of Liverpool. Here he took up a drama lecture position at a college in Liverpool , and co- founded a Shakespearian Theatre in education company which toured the northwest of England.



At this point in time he also formed the band "Earth" who had Radio interviews and interest at that time from Sony records. Alas the band broke up before anything was finalised.



Murphy then moved to Hamburg where he wrote songs for a German band before he made his move to Denmark.



In 2000 Murphy after having been touring the scandinavian countries as a solo acoustic artist , the band "Away With The Fairys" where formed and toured Denmark and the U.K. finishing off at the world famous Cavern .



A year later the band members went there diffirent ways.



2001 the world changed and it didnt take too long before Murphy started to suspect that all was not as it seemed as far as the official story went in regards to who was to blame for this horrific murder of the people on American soil that day, and the deaths that have taken place on a global scale since.



The terror of the situation played upon Murphy´s mind so much that musically he could only document what he was seeing and learning from others who where not convinced of the official story either.



This year that documentation has been released as the CD "We´ve Been Had"
