Biography

Athena Rock Band was formed in 1979, based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, creating progressive rock original music. We used the "Concept" of the Mythical Goddess Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, Goddess of Craftsmanship, The Merciful and Patron Goddess of Athens, as a guiding influence for original songs.

Legend goes that Athena was the Protector of the Arts and Crafts. She was also a War Goddess, fighting efficiently to protect her side, using her superior knowledge of tactics and strategy. She championed many heroes offering advice and protection. Athena can be credited with having provided Humankind with the knowledge needed for the foundation of civilization. ATHENA, knowing the power of music in today's society, Athena Rock Band USA, has strived to harness the energy of her legend in creating original songs.

Escape To Athena is a progressive rock album featuring strong lead vocals, guitar and keyboard unison and harmony leads, and solid backbeats. Escape to Athena has songs of
Love & Rejection, Disaster & Triumph, Good & Evil, Right & Wrong. Some will cry. Some will laugh. All who listen will be touched in some way.

Escape to ATHENA was recorded at The Athena Sound Stage in Atlanta, Georgia, and mixed and mastered at John Keane Recording Studios in Athens, Georgia.

Escape to ATHENA is released for distribution December 2010 through the digital distributor C/D Baby and is becoming available everywhere music is sold as a physical album C/D or downloads.
