Bonfire Music Group is excited to announce the addition of singer/songwriter Áine Burns to its evolving artist roster. To celebrate, the Irish-born songstress just released her brand new single “I’m A Man You Don’t Meet Every Day,” a Roots meets Bluegrass version of the traditional tune.

“I’m A Man You Don’t Meet Every Day” (also occasionally called “Jock Stuart”) is a Scottish tune that has been covered over the years by artists like The Pogues, The Dubliners, and many others. The new recording was produced by, and also features harmony vocals from Áine’s husband, critically-acclaimed Roots artist Danny Burns. Áine’s powerful vocals shine throughout, delivering a new and unique sound to the Bluegrass world. The decision to record the song came after growing up in Ireland listening to the track.

The musical journey for Áine began at an early age. Growing up in a musical family in Bundoran, Ireland, Burns was consistently exposed to different types of music that influenced a diverse style. Her mother performed with multiple Country and Western style bands, while Áine was also heavily influenced by live music she would see at her family’s pub, The Chasin’ Bull. As a wife and also mother of four, she has prioritized education by creating an online music school for children during the pandemic. As well as raising a family, writing, recording and teaching music, Áine and Danny will also be launching a joint venture in the form of a new music venue and Irish Pub called The Celt in Charleston, S.C. opening this April.

She’s also released several different recordings under her maiden name Áine O’Doherty, even as recently as 2020. Her first venture into the Bluegrass/Roots world came with a 2022 holiday collaboration alongside Danny Burns, performing a revised version of Steve Earle’s “Nothing But A Child.” The tune would also be featured on Danny’s latest project, Promised Land - released in the fall of 2023.
