Biography
Based in Western Kentucky, The ALONZO PENNINGTON BAND (A.P.B.) has been aggressively playing in the region for most of the last decade. A.P.B. is one of the TOUGHEST, FUNKIEST, AND MOST ENERGETIC BANDS AROUND !! Alonzo plays a POWERFUL guitar BASTED in SWEET VINTAGE TONES and a rhythm section that can, as BUDDY GUY says, "MAKE IT SO FUNKY YOU CAN SMELL IT". A night out with APB is known to induce DANCING AND PARTYING to the delicious mix of ORIGIONAL SONGS, Blues, Crazy Country, Thumbpicking, Classic Rock, Funk AND Jazz......... ALL IN APB's OWN STYLE!!!

Members of the APB are:

Bobby Harper - Electric Bass/Upright Bass/Backup Vocals.
Bobby is a seasoned veteran accomplished in Jazz, Blues, Country and Bluegrass. He spent around 20 years in the New Orleans area before moving home to Kentucky in the early 90s. You won't find a more solid bass player anywhere!

Dean Hughes - Drums/Percussion.
Dean is also a very accomplished and seasoned veteran. He has professionally played all styles of music from Dixieland to Funk to Jazz. He can play it all!

Angela Mosely - Keyboards/Harmonica/Backup Vocals.
Angie is a recent graduate from Murray State University where she excelled in piano and music theory studies. She learned piano at the Tennessee School for the Blind when she was 7. A natural prodigy with the musical ear of a genius.

Alonzo Pennington - Songwriting/Guitar/Fiddle/Vocals.
Proud of the fact the he as the ability to perform his own music, Alonzo started writing songs at the age of 13. Alonzo started playing the fiddle around the age of 5. He learned to play old fiddle tunes that were passed down through his family from his Grandfather Norman Pennington. Alonzo's father, Eddie Pennington, is recognized as one of the greatest living thumbpicking guitarists in the nation. Please drop by his site at www.eddiepennington.com
In 1999 Alonzo won the National Thumbpicking Contest in Mountain View, AR, the International Thumbpicking Contest, and the International Open-Style Contest at the home of thumbpicking in Muhlenburg County KY. Alonzo likes to incorporate his thumbpicking heritage with the stylings of other great musicians that have influenced him. From Chickin'-Pickin' to Thumb and Finger-style to rocking bluesy screaming voodoo guitar.
