Biography
When Dan Modlin (mahd'-luhn)and Dave Scott released an album on 700 West Records years ago, they were told the music was too rock for country stations and too country for rock stations. The album got good reviews, received some limited airplay and later became a favorite of record collectors in several parts of the world. In fact, original copies of "The Train Don't Stop Here Anymore" have sold on-line for several hundred dollars per copy in recent years. In part because of collector interest, that album was re-released in South Korea and Japan in 2011. "One More Chance to Play" gives these story-telling songwriters the opportunity to share their new music with Americana and folk listeners. Modlin & Scott use intricate guitar parts and vocal harmonies to tell stories about real life people and situations. In
preparation for the release of this album, the duo have performed at shows with some of the best songwriters in the business, and some truly outstanding session players, including two Grammy winners, contributed to the sound of this album. None of the tracks on this album contain language that would be objectionable to the FCC. Both Modlin and Scott are former journalists(public radio and newspaper, respectively) and they draw on their journalism backgrounds to tell stories about economic hardship, injustice, history, and the drive that motivates songwriters to stay in the business.
