Biography
uice Big City BIO In 2005 Ilona (singer an song-writer) was hangin’ around at Vi-sound Studio – which is located in Moscow, - owned by her friend, musician and composer Valera Paramonov. They were recording demos of her new songs together. One day they met two guys-Max Nikulin and Sergei Batrakov, who used to play in a rock-band together. By chance, a guitarist called Anton Tsigankov came round. While checking the sound for recording the three musicians warmed up on some “Extreme” stuff, just for fun.. And why did they draw her attention? Well, they sounded just right for Ilona’s dream band. So that’s how it all began. So, they plunged into the creation and started recording the debut album “Big City”. In the process the name of the band was born, which added some fresh-squeezed goodness to the hustle-bustle of the megapolis. This album was more of an experiment. The target was a trendy stuff. The CD was issued in 1000 copies for promotion in spring 2007 along with the band’s first video clip “Big City”. In the fall of 2007, JBC got down to rehearsals. In February 2008 the band played their first gig. However, that November, Anton formed his own band, and it turned out hard for him to go on playing in two groups. Also, Max (the bassist) was busy in another cover-band,(‘cause one cann't feed on sheer enthusiasm, you know). And JBC desperately needed one more guitarist. Eventually, in august 2008, Juice Big City was reborn as it is now, with Ilona Sandler on vocals, Alex Britkovski on guitars, Eugene Bakushev on guitars, Roman Meshkov on bass and Alex Ladoshin on drums. In February 2010 Juice Big City issued the “100 streets” (Russian version of the“100 Days”) video “with a little help of their friend”, Aleksei Golubeff, a well-known clip-maker and film-director. After loads of gigs, rehearsals and spending great deal of time together as a family, they worked out their own style, and now are working on their new songs together with the band’s sound engineer & sound producer Andrew Konoplyov, who has become a meaning part of the process. The guys are full of passion for creating music, gigging & rocking into their future together
