Outlaw, Country & Southern Punk, Singer/Songwriter, Mean ****, Ordained Minister.
He's been called an outlaw, a renegade, uncompromising, dangerous, unpredictable, mean and too abrasive, but he's also been called brilliant, genius, prolific, poet and even the purest due to his constant crusade to save country music. His name is plastered on t-shirts worn by tons of people, including celebrities. You'll see his name next to terms like 'Award Winner' and stacked neatly alongside Waylon, Willie & the boys on any list of the most notable outlaws in country music... More than a little full of himself? You better believe it. Can he be back up that self confidence? He certainly can... He's a six foot, tough as nails, slight but solid framed 170lb proud southerner with an indestructible reputation, who dabbles in amateur boxing, prefers dental procedure done sans anesthesia, carries a gun, brass knuckles, who knows what else, who comes from a clan of Irish, German, Native American on moonshiners. -Wiki Answers
Hailing from South Carolina, Bullards past is fraught with love, loss, death, addiction, human suffering, torrid tales of flirting with the devil, the wrath of Deep South religion, a constant on a moral tightrope and more Southern Gothic lore than a Tennessee Williams play. "The Rise & Fall of James Scott Bullard and The Late Night Sweethearts", released in 2012 by Big Mavis Records (formerly Yonder Music) won a few awards, including the 'Gram Parsons Legacy Award' received heavy airplay, charted high on major Americana charts, held the number one spot for 3 weeks above Darius Rucker and garnered a mass amount of glowing critical reviews. And weather in an arena or a dive, Bullard has proven time and again is uncanny ability to charm and convert the toughest audiences. Sharing the stage with David Allan Coe, Butch Walker, and Dex Romweber to name a few, Bullard has gained quite a cult following that is growing daily anticipating the release of two new records in 2016 under the Big Mavis label.
The Late Night Sweethearts have been a revolving door of great musicians from around the Carolinas in the past, but now Bullard has without a doubt recruited the best in SC with the addition of Jeff Springs, Kevin Singleton, Justin Banks, Rebecca Morning and Mike knight.
