Biography

I picked up the guitar as kid. My Mom played classical piano in the after-school afternoons, instilling a love of great melodies in my soul. Always amazed by the songwriting talent of others, I dreamed that someday I could become a songwriter. Through a child’s eyes becoming something is a journey then a stopping point, an arrival at your projected destination. Seasoning of time makes you realize the journey you started is lifelong, as you pursue growing the seed of talent you first discovered.

My songs reflect the influences of my life, and the work of my songwriting heroes. I’ve always listened across genres. I’ve been a co-owner of 2 recording studios. There’s nothing like understanding someone else’s dreams, and in a small way, helping them achieve their goals. It does teach you to see music through the writer’s and singer’s point of view. It teaches in profound ways.

My first band was Loose Salute – a rock solid cover band of classic Texas singer songwriters, folk artists and believe or not a couple of big band swing numbers. I learned a lot by spending night after night with the words and music of the greats.

I have been a writer as long as I can remember, a songwriter since I was given the gift after becoming a Christian, a composer of commercial music, and a marketer creative in two agencies where I was co-owner.
