Biography
Harold Jean-Pierre
Composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, Harold Jean-Pierre is committed and passionate in his love for music. Harold started exploring at age nine, when his father introduced him to the accordion. He gravitated to the saxophone and woodwind family and mastered the Tenor, Alto and Soprano Saxophones, Clarinet, and Flute. Mr. Jean-Pierre studied at Five Towns college and played with the marine band during his four year tour in the military. Aboard various major cruise ships he performed Vegas and Broadway style shows for 10 years. His Haitian background and New York City upbrigning have also been major influences on his music career. He is now well-versed in various jazz styles, Latin styles like Merengue and Salsa, Caribbean rhythms like Zouk, Compa and Reggae.
Mr. Jean-Pierre has also played and recorded for many musicians and entertainers including Ben Vareen, Charo, David "fathead"Newman,Shirley Jones and Betty Carter, among others.
Currently based in New York City, Pierre is focused on his self-produced self-released album, “Moving On.” The original compositions are a personal journey bringing together some of his biggest influences: jazz melodies and Haitian rhythms.
