Patuxent Music -- Growing up just down the road from Doc Watson, Billboard-charting artists Cane Mill Road rock the traditional bluegrass standards they grew up on, yet boldly tackle writing original music that often walks the lines between Bluegrass, Americana, Old-time, and Folk.

The four young men roam the Blue Ridge Mountains backroads driving between Deep Gap, NC and Rocky Gap, VA to meet and and make music together -- thus the title track of the band's sophomore album Gap to Gap. The title signifies more than just the long hours on the road touring, but the spaces between the bluegrass foundation of the band's youth and the new spaces of music they create together.

Honoring the past, the band looks to the future with a blended set of traditional and contemporary music.

You've seen Cane Mill Road at some of the most iconic festivals in the nation from MerleFest to Grey Fox to Silver Dollar City to Bluegrass Island to Wide Open Bluegrass.

Sixteen-year-old Liam Purcell plays mandolin, fiddle, and sings. Eighteen-year-old Tray Wellington plays banjo. Twenty-year-old Casey Lewis sings and plays guitar. And 21-year-old Eliot Smith plays bass.

IBMA picked Cane Mill Road from hundreds of applicants around the nation as one of 30 bands to showcase during the 2017 Wide Open Bluegrass Ramble this fall in Raleigh. The honor puts Cane Mill Road in the spotlight at the biggest event of the year for bluegrass!

The band represented the United States of America in May of 2015 at the International Music Festival, Concierto En Iguazu, where they toured for eight days in Argentina.

Cane Mill Road signed with Patuxent Music in Rockville, MD and is endorsed by GHS Strings, Deering Banjos, Sorensen Mandolin and Guitar Company, Shubb Capos, and Kogut Violins.
