As anticipation continues to grow for Daniel Grindstaff’s upcoming Heroes And Friends album, available on May 17, the banjo extraordinaire is excited to release two dual singles. These include the mainstream Bluegrass song “Looking At The World Through A Windshield” featuring IBMA "Guitar Player of the Year" Trey Hensley and the Gospel track “Child Of The King” featuring Jeff Tolbert. Both are available now on all digital and streaming platforms, and released via Bonfire Music Group.
“Looking At The World Through A Windshield” is an upbeat Bluegrass twist on the famous Del Reeves Country tune that was co-written by Jerry Chesnut and Mike Hoyer. From start to finish, it’s a ride that listeners have to hear to experience for themselves. On the flip side, the Gospel release “Child Of The King” is a ballad that will give fans chills with its heartfelt vocals and tender message. It was written by Cindy Walker and has been covered by other acts like the Gaither Vocal Band. Both cuts are also available for radio airplay now!
The dual singles follow the previous chart-topper “Finnland” featuring Andy Leftwich. The original tune is currently the No.1 song on Bluegrass Today’s Monthly Airplay Chart. Before that, the groundbreaking “Forever Young” was released last fall featuring Paul Brewster and Dolly Parton. It went on to hit the top of the charts and achieve critical-acclaim in the process by securing features in places like Music Row and American Songwriter, while other music publications like Ultimate Guitar and Chordify celebrated Grindstaff’s unique arrangement by listing the guitar chords. Both of these songs will also be featured on Heroes And Friends.
Stay tuned as more information becomes available on the upcoming project! In total, there are 10 new recordings that will be featured. The common theme throughout? Each song was arranged and produced by Grindstaff. It enabled the East Tennessee native to bring his lifetime of studio work to the forefront of his music. Other guests on the project include Jimmy Fortune, Rickey Wasson, Doyle Lawson and Kevin Richardson.
