Cris Cuddy Biography
Cuddy's previous three mellower acoustic CD's have seen his songs featured on the Grammy nominated "North by South" cd by IBMA winner Claire Lynch, and others recorded by artists as diverse as Americana and Bluegrass Artists like IBMA Winning Guitarist Jim Hurst (ex-Claire Lynch sidekick) who ripped it up with his firey version of “Long and Lonesome Old Freight Train”, IBMA Winners The Spinney Bros. who chose the moving “Sally’s Waltz”, in addition to Juno Award Winners Prairie Oyster who aced “Tom Cat” and “Long and Lonesome..”, and songwriting great and mentor Mickey Newbury who used Cris’s “What if Frankie Doesn’t Like It” (and yes, it's about Old Blue Eyes) as a segue on his masterful “Long Road Home”. And there are more in the works..
“As Usual The Unusual” this cd veers from the furious rockin' "Time Bomb Baby" and “**** Kickin' Angel" through the tribute to classic Opry favourites like Minnie Pearl "No Stars in Nashville Tonight", the exuberant "Let's Get Drunk Tonight" to the joyful "Drink Up and Be Somebody", the testament to the vibrancy of "In Mexican Town" and the remembrance of the embers of Rockabilly "Jerry Lee and Elvis”, on to the reggae-like story of Christina Onassis "All the Pain That Money Could Buy", all leading up to the dreamy, heart-breaking ballad “Heartache”.
This collection features a dazzling cast of musicians including guitars, saxaphone and bass by George “Tonechap” Bradfute (Webb Wilder, Paul Burch..), the piano, organ and saxophone of Luther Bradfute, pedal steel, violin, mandolin and accordion by multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin (Tom Russell, Jack White etc), Rick Lonow on drums (Jamie Hartford etc) and Emory Lester on banjo.

DJ’s & CD Reviewers Say :
"If there’s one thing everyone should agree upon, Cris Cuddy’s CD is never boring. It’s indie music, a mixture of blues, rockabilly, and a little Mexican and calypso and other styles you may not describe. He switches tempos and styles and keeps it all interesting from start to finish”
