BIOGRAPHY

Blues Attack is a powerhouse blues-rock band from Istanbul. The five piece ensemble is capable of transcending genres, providing the audiences with a wide spectrum of styles while maintaining the key ingredient of their sound—a killer groove. For their debut release, they have turbo charged their sound with rich arrangements of horns and background vocals from Istanbul's finest!

Sezen Köroğlu (k), Tarkan Mumkule (g) and Batur Yurtsever (b) were already household names of the Istanbul live music scene way before the band came together. The trio had played together for twenty-five years backing some of the top singers and musicians in Turkey. They have also composed, recorded and performed on various group and solo projects earning them spots on multiple stadium gigs, opening for global rock giants such as Rolling Stones and Metallica.

Güray Oskay (v, g) and Hasan Ali Polat (d), two prominent figures of the Turkish blues scene, joined the three to form Blues Attack in 2017. The band started playing gigs regularly in and outside of Istanbul and quickly established a strong fan base. With raw vocals, fiery guitar work and a groove that keeps the audience moving a Blues Attack performance is always a rich funky musical experience.

In 2019, the band made its international debut at the North City Jazz & Blues Festival in Mitrovica, Kosovo playing not once but two nights in a row. The performances were musical hits and they also made the political scene as Blues Attack was the first act to play on both sides of a divided city.

As Covid-19 restrictions hit the world in 2020, Blues Attack retreated to composing. With ten original songs in the bag, the band is ready to take the world by storm with their debut album: Bringing Down The House. Their catalog has that distinct Blues Attack sound which rides through a colorful palette of sounds from hearty blues to hip shaking funk reminiscent of Joe Bonamassa, Bernard Allison, The Allman Brothers Band and The Meters.
