Little Wild Life was recorded in an old dance studio in Berlin, Germany. During the ten days of recording the three sisters of Baskery worked with Long Beach based producer Matt Wignall (Mando Diao, Cold War Kids, J.Roddy) to create an album laced in analogue atmosphere, backed up by big room vibes and accompanied by their common musical heroes, spontaneity and a never-fading love for groove.
The eleven songs take you through different stages in life, observed but not necessarily experienced by the band members themselves. Because this time it is life itself that gets celebrated and mourned, not the ego.
Baskery's third full length album represents the sisters' wish and ability to renew and refine, to never dwell in any particular genre, but to do what they do best which is pick and mix wildly between them to create their very own, unique sound.
SHORT AND SWEET
Baskery is sisters Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson from Stockholm, Sweden. This high voltage trio has since the start in 2007 released three full length albums and one EP, they all received great acclaim from the press.
When asked to describe their sound, Baskery like to use expressions like “banjopunk”, “newfolk” and “nordicana” and they’ve become famous for their energetic live shows and killer sibling harmonies.
2014 will be a lot about America. The band is currently based in Nashville to write and record new music, but they will spend most of the time on the road, staying true to their live spirit.
