Biography
From the age of 3 Amaya was always awed by the violin, and at age 7 her parents began taking her to a classic violin instructor for Suzuki Method lessons once week. Around 12, she began joining SLO county legend, Monte Mills and the Lucky Horseshoe Band as one of the lead singers and fiddle player. From there her violin playing (which slowly turned to fiddling) has taken her as far as earning 2nd place in the CA Fiddle State Championships, 2nd at the Western Open Fiddle Championships, an opening act for Merle Haggard, and guest appearances with Lyle Lovett, and Riders In the Sky. Just recently (June 2015) Amaya was most generously gifted the opportunity to record a 10 song CD at Kim Copeland Productions by award-winning songwriter Max McGee. During her stay in Nashville, she also had the amazing opportunity of joining Vince Gill and The Time Jumpers on stage for a spontaneus guest appearance. Thanks so much to family, friends, and fans, who greatly supported this endeavor, a 10 song CD is on its way, and should be here by the end of summer!
