Biography
A Lovely Crisis are spitting in the face of today’s over-produced and pre-fabricated pop music scene. Don’t let their youth and good looks fool you—this band of four young rockers is flipping the proverbial finger to the traditional “boy band” image. One part teen angst, one part raw energy, relentless and unbridled, mixed with a healthy dose of snarling punk attitude, A Lovely Crisis is happy to claim their stake as this generation’s “Anti-Boy Band.”

Formed two years ago, in March of 2010, this burgeoning band of budding musicians from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania were brought together by a mutual love of old school punk and post-punk artists like Ramones, Green Day and Blink 182, as well as their collective disdain for pop technology in music. “Technology killed the guitar…I just wanna rock,” growls lead singer and guitarist, Jordan Gable, on “Guitar Is Dead, a track from their debut CD, Back Then. That’s exactly what A Lovely Crisis does…they rock.

Back Then, a collection of 11 punk-pop anthems, was recorded at Cobblesound Studios with renowned producer, Klint Macro (Warren Zevon, Christina Aguilera.) Scheduled for release in May 2012, the album captures and showcases the high-energy performances of each member of A Lovely Crisis: the heavy riffs and screaming solos of Gable and fellow guitarist, Matt Leas; the thunderous and relentless drumming of Nigel Seibert; and the groove-laden bottom-heavy bass of Eric Neff. All combined with Gable’s sneering vocals, Back Then is a raucous and rambunctious statement on today’s teens and their universal truths.

With their debut CD recorded, and preparations being made for releasing the title track as its first single, A Lovely Crisis is returning to the live concert stage. Placing 3rd in the 2012 High School Rock Challenge, ALC has earned a deserved reputation for their intense, energetic and lively performances. With a strong commitment and will to spread their music to the masses, the band embarked on a series of regional dates last year, including a performance at the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Upcoming A Lovely Crisis concerts will see the band playing at the Pittsburgh Marathon, as well as at any club, festival, fair, or party that wants to rock out with them.

Even a band of young punksters knows the importance of giving back to the community that has shown A Lovely Crisis their support. In November 2011, the band graciously accepted an invitation to play at the Fallen Not Forgotten concert in Pittsburgh, PA. Joining other top area musicians, ALC helped to raise money for the family of fallen hometown police officer, Derek Kotecki, who was killed in the line of duty. For a young band of upstart rockers, this was a humbling and honorable experience.

Catchy, guitar-driven punk-pop anthems, exuberant and memorable live concert experiences, and focused dedication to, as their song says, “Make rock big again,” all wrapped together with youthful good looks and angst-ridden attitude, will have today’s teen population, and those who are young at heart, clamoring for the Anti-boy band: A Lovely Crisis.
