Biography
Not many Garth Brooks albums were released that didn't have a Tony Arata song on it. After Tony's song, "The Dance," became one of Garth's signature songs, and other hits by Lee Roy Parnell ("Holding My Own"), Patty Loveless ("Here I Am"), and Clay Walker (Dreaming With My Eyes Wide Open"), Garth and producer Allen Reynolds knew Tony would always have something special.
And he does.
One of the most-gifted songwriters of our time.
The players who performed on this project are as follows:
Dan Dugmore - pedal steel, dobro, mandolin
George Marinelli, Jr. - electric guitar
Lee Roy Parnell - electric guitar, B-3, bass
(courtesy of Universal South Records)
Pat Alger - acoustic guitar
Kirk "Jellyroll" Johnson - harmonica
James Pennebaker - fiddle
Debbie Nims-Allen - background vocals
Matt Lindsey - background vocals, keyboards
Tony Arata - acoustic guitar, vocals
Produced by Matt Lindsey and Tony Arata
My thanks to Matt Lindsey - my friend, fellow writer and a song man who has helped me ever since I got to Nashville.
All my admiration to Pat, Lee Roy, George, Dan, Jellyroll, James, and Debbie. No better players - nowhere. -- Tony Arata
