Bluegrass powerhouse Tim Raybon Band just released their emotional new single, "Walk Softly On The Bridges," a timeless ballad that was penned by legendary songwriters Dallas Frazier and Laura Lee Owens. It’s a twist on the well-known tune made famous by Country legends like Tammy Wynette and Mel Street.
"Like so many of Dallas Frazier’s country songs that are now staples in a Bluegrass set, like 'Beneath Still Waters' and '14 Karat Mind,' this song is no different," says Raybon. "First cut in a Bluegrass style by Bobby and Sonny Osborne in the early 1970s, it’s always been one of my favorite songs by this wonderful songwriter."
"Walk Softly On The Bridges" centers around themes of respect, empathy, and the lasting impact of how we treat others. Led by Tim Raybon’s commanding and soulful vocals, this rendition is a fresh take on the familiar tune, layering it with rich, traditional Bluegrass instrumentation that adds depth and resonance to the powerful message. In the new single, Raybon’s voice shines as he navigates the song’s poignant narrative, reminding listeners of the importance of “walking softly” in relationships, as the consequences of our actions often shape how we’re perceived in the future. The timelessness of the lyrics is complemented by the band’s seamless instrumentals throughout.
The Tim Raybon Band has been making waves across the Bluegrass scene, with their recent success marking them as one of the genre's top performers. Earlier this year, the band notched their 11th No. 1 hit with the widely celebrated track "Headed Back to Tulsa," which topped the Roots Music Report Traditional Bluegrass Song chart. Raybon's acclaimed album, I Could Get Used To This, also produced an impressive five chart-toppers and showcased his exceptional songwriting and vocal abilities.
The release of "Walk Softly On The Bridges" continues the Tim Raybon Band’s streak of high-caliber releases, further establishing their place as a force within the Bluegrass scene. Fans can expect more heartfelt performances and timeless themes as the band continues to honor the rich legacy of Bluegrass while introducing it to new audiences. They also recently tied together the worlds of Bluegrass and Country with the stirring ballad, “Arlington,” released around Memorial Day.
