Biography

The Taubl Family, John and Carol along with their 7 musically gifted children, have been touching the hearts and souls of people with their glorious music for over 10 years. Combining the beauty of strings, the elegance of the harp, and the magic of family vocal harmony, the Taubls create a genre all their own, performing styles of music that range from classical to pops to spiritual. They have toured throughout the eastern half of the United States, playing at the United Nations, Mechanics Hall, and many other concert venues. Individually, the Taubl children have quite a long list of accomplishments. Gretchen, the oldest, is 23 years old and a recent graduate of the Hartt School in viola performance. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree there and is a student of Steve Larson. Emily is 22 and is a graduate of the Yale School of Music where she studied with Aldo Parisot. She is currently working on a second degree at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT. Her cello is provided by VirtuFoundation, a nonprofit organization committed to providing fine instruments for gifted young players. Annabelle, age 20, is a senior at the Hartt School in harp performance. She is a student of Nancy Allen, principal harpist of the New York Philharmonic. All three of the girls are graduates of the pre-college program at the Juilliard School in New York City. Jack, the oldest boy, is 17 years old, plays viola, and is a junior at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, CT. Samuel, 14 year old cellist, is currently in his sixth year at the Juilliard pre-college where he studies with Clara Kim. Sam is a freshman at CHS. The 12 year old twins, James and Jeremiah, play viola and violin respectively. They are sixth grade students at Christian Heritage. James is a viola student of Marvin Warshaw at Neighborhood Music School in New Haven and Adria Benjamin at the Mannes School of Music in New York City. Jeremiah studies with Stephan Teiszen at the Mannes School.
