Biography
The Jimmy Haynes Band is a band comprised of very well respected musicians in bluegrass and acoustic music. Their unique sound and exciting style of Traditional, Contemporary, Gospel as well as a Jazz mix is a welcome to many of it's followers. Whether they are playing at a concert hall, festival, music hall, or live radio, their dynamics and energy that they bring to every show has been a delight to fans where ever they play. Their current studio project is close to release and is sure to be a great addition to any music lover's collection!!!
Jimmy Haynes is the founder of The Jimmy Haynes Band. Jimmy provides mandolin and baritone vocals for the band. Jimmy is an established musician who has been playing and teaching music for over 30 years. His influences range from Bill Monroe and Dempsey Young, to the more contemporary and Jazz influence of David Grisman and Chris Thile. He co-founded The Haynes Family Quartet and later The Jimmy Haynes Band which included sons Jim and Adam Haynes. Adam has since gone on to perform in such bands as Melvin Goins, James King, David Parmley, Dailey and Vincent, and currently Grasstowne. Jim currently resides in South Amherst, OH with his wife Enola and their beloved dog Toby. Jimmy proudly endorses Dogwood Designs Straps.
Enola Haynes is the Bass Player and Lead Vocal for The Jimmy Haynes Band. Often referred to as "The Voice", Enola's powerful lead and harmony vocals has gained her quite a following. Enola began playing with The Haynes Family Quartet and later The Jimmy Haynes Band with her husband Jimmy and sons Jim and Adam. Her unique vocals and knowledge of vocal harmony serve as an asset and foundation to the band. Enola resides in South Amherst, OH with her husband Jimmy and their beloved dog Toby.
Glenn Hamilton was born June 8th, 1983 in Sandusky, OH. Glenn was raised on Bluegrass music and cites Ralph Stanley, Keith Whitley, J.D.Crowe, Earl Scruggs, his Dad Harold, and Uncle Andy Hamilton as influences. Glenn's Uncle's, the late Andy Hamilton and the late Ed Hamilton both were successful in the Bluegrass industry over the past 30 years, with Ed writing the 1998 IBMA Song of The Year "Lonesome Old Home", recorded by Longview and has also been recorded by Ralph Stanley and The Wilson Brothers. His family has either started or been putting on Bluegrass festivals in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky for the better part of 30 years with his family originating from Floyd County, Kentucky. Glenn began playing music at the age of 14. He began playing Bass in his Dad's Country Rock Band, then switched to the 5-string banjo at the age of 19 at the encouragement of his Father. Glenn brings a powerful right hand and unique sound to The Jimmy Haynes Band, and with a listen you won't be disappointed. Glenn resides in Sullivan, OH with wife Ashley, son Jacob, and daughter Taylor.
Jiles Williams also known as "J.V.", is the Rhthym Guitar player as well as sharing the Lead and Harmony Vocals for The Jimmy Haynes Band. His unique singing style and vocal ability have earned him the respect of many Bluegrass vocalists. He was born in May, 1977 in Avon, OH. He grew up listening to bluegrass and country music and it was that which gave him the will to play music with his friends and family. Jiles musical background was inspired by his Uncle Everett Lilly of The Lilly Brothers. Everett of course, traveled all over the world with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Jiles started playing Bass at 6 years old and made the switch to Guitar some time after that. He co-founded Muddy Krick Mountain Boys and traveled with them for 8 years. His powerful rhthym and timing makes him a valuable asset to the band. Jiles can be heard on Sunday Mornings from Noon-6pm on the "Bluegrass Express" on WOBL 1320AM out of Oberlin, OH. He makes his home in Avon, OH with wife Sheila and their two children.
Scott Jackson was born on 10/20/1982 in Oberlin, OH. Most of his young life was spent between Clarksfield,OH and Alderson, WV. Scott began playing guitar at the age of 4, after watching and listening to his dad play since his birth. His passion for playing music continued to grow throughout his life. He explored several different genres of music to further devolop his playing ability, including rock, blues, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, and classical. He found that bluegrass music had lit a fire in his soul and made its home in his heart. At the age of 19, he decided to try his hand at the mandolin, and played mandolin with the Muddy Krick Mountain Boys for over eight years. During this time, he began to discover that while he enjoyed playing mandolin, his first love and true passion still lie in playing guitar. Receiving inspiration from guitar virtuosos like Kenny Smith, Tim Stafford, Chet Atkins, Neil Young, and Tony Rice, Scott has developed his own talent and individual sound. He currently resides in Lorain, OH with his loving family. He continues to nurture his talent and unique sound, and couldn't be more delighted than to share his music and his love of music with friends and family...and with YOU!
