Biography
Americana music born in the south,Guaranteed to get your toes a tappin, smiles a growin and fun a rollin.
Imagine a southern night with hot, humid air and your paddlin' up to the shore of a moonlit swampy cove. With the frogs and other critters a yackin' just outside, you glide up to the misty lights of an old wooden bar. Then through the night air you hear a soulful down home band commencin' to rippin' it up, with songs dripping from a hillbilly soul. The beer a flowin', ladies a dancin' and cowboy boots a tappin' and you have the flavor of the music from ....
Perry Jordan & Heartsfield

Heartsfield toured throughout the decades of the 70s & 80s, spreading its infectious brand of foot stompin good-time country rock in nearly every state across the country in a tour-de-force of 200-300 dates per year. They played every concert venue, club, festival, party and college campus nationally and were overwhelming favorites on FM radio stations around the country. Along the way, they recorded four albums for Mercury & Columbia Records (several of which hit the Billboard charts), acquired fans who admitted to seeing them play dozens of times and attained the respect of the entire music industry, by being paired with such acts as The Doobie Brothers, Charlie Daniels, Eric Clapton, Loggins & Messina, Fleetwood Mac, .38 Special, The Guess Who, Dickie Betts, Kiss, BTO, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lynrd Skynrd, Little Feat, Waylon & Willie and more. The band had a loyal following abroad, sprouting several avid fan clubs. Heartsfield was one of the true fore-runners of todays popular AMERICANA/ALT-COUNTRY/JAM BAND movement and garner tremendous respect from the younger players carrying on that tradition.

Originally formed in 1972 by Perry Jordan with J.C. Hartsfield , both from the South but living in the Midwest, the band had a distinctive Southern flavor with exceptional vocal arrangements, accompanied by four guitars, bass, and drums, that blended the elements of country, rock, folk, and Jazz into what was called charismatic magic on stage . Jordan quickly became a focal point of the group as lead singer and major song writer, penning such FM hits as House of Living, Racin the Sun, As I Look Into the Fire, Another Man Down, Im Comin Home, Music Eyes, and The Only Time Im Sober is When Youre Gone. With Perry once again at the helm he has brought back that foot stompin, guitar blazin, crowd pleasin sound that is taking off again.
Just four years ago Jordan reformed Heartsfield and started touring in the midwest once again garnering respect from old & new fans, promoters and indie radio and the press. Always thought of as an Alt Country/Americana artist he has continued writing songs, building a deep catalog of songs full of banjos, mandolins, jaw harps, fiddles, dobros, acoustic guitars as well as blazin electric slide guitars.

A lover of The Groove his songs although filled with heart felt, meaningful lyrics always have that drivin southern beat that separates him from the rest of the pack in Americana. Avid fans over the years have held the tunes close to their hearts forming a special relationship with the band and the listener, that has spanned decades.

In performance Heartsfield shows are always full of fun uptempo, foot stompin music that gets the crowd involved, singin & dancin away. Their philosophy, that music is for positive vibes, feeling good & loosing the day to day blues leaves audiences uplifted, feeling they had a great time. Heartsfield feels thats what they owe them when they have the privilege of their company.

The mixture of lots of hot pickin, strong vocals, driving rhythm and smiles from the stage have allowed this this band to last over 3 decades and going strong. With 8 releases and a new one in the works, Heartsfield knows their best is yet to come. So in the words of the self proclaimed German Hillbilly
Song Rider Jordan, KEEP ON SMILIN and may the force of positive music be with you !!!
