Biography
Return To Crossroads Label Group

If a newcomer were to happen upon a recent CD of Christian artist, Steve Ladd, and notice the title cover prominently titled “On My Own,” it is possible that the non-curious, self-assured type may be struck by an impression of Ladd’s independence and self-made success. They may even attempt to reinforce these opinions using scriptures from the Gospel of John like “…apart from me you can do nothing”. However, those that actually take the time to investigate the music, and more specifically, the man, come away with an altogether different impression: few are more succinctly aware of their daily dependence on Christ than Steve Ladd.

As early as five years old while growing up in Dayton, Ohio, Steve Ladd felt the call of God to minister through song. The son of an evangelist, the youngster would mature to become one of the most well-liked and respected group member for some of America’s most award-winning Christian music ensembles like Gold City and The Anchormen. Although still considered a young artist, Ladd has spent the last seven years traveling extensively both domestically and internationally. Performing inspirational songs like “Preach the Word” has become a personal anthem of encouragement Ladd takes wherever he goes and he reports “God moves and lives that are broken and hurting are leaving changed and encouraged at my services.”
