Biography
Morningsong comes “Full Circle” with newest recording

Albuquerque, NM- December 15, 2010- Shelley Morningsong (N.Cheyenne) is back with her new album “Full Circle” which may prove to be the best new Native American contemporary record of the year.

Morningsong’s debut album in 2006 titled “Out of the Ashes” was a refreshing surprise to the world of Native Music. “Out of the Ashes” won three prestigious awards soon after its release including; the New Mexico Music Award for “Best Native Contemporary Music”, the Wisconsin Indian Summer Festival for “Classic Rock” and the Native American Music Awards out of New York for “Debut Artist of the Year.”
Now, four years later Morningsong has done it again.

Shelley Morningsong, along side Grammy award winning producer Larry Mitchell and her husband Fabian Fontenelle (Zuni, Omaha) have delivered an outstanding new recording. Morningsong’s ability to fuse together traditional Native American instrumentation with a main stream sound is something her fans old and young alike love and admire about her music.

“Full Circle” features Shelley’s soulful and heart gripping vocals that will delight, inspire and move even the coldest hearts. Morningsong states “I feel like I’ve grown so much in the past four years. My new songs reflect a more raw and honest message about my deepest feelings on certain subjects”. Her highly personal yet universal writing style manifests in this new recording.

Shelley Morningsong comes from a musically talented family. She grew up singing and playing guitar and at 17 she joined a country rock band called, Hearts of the West. Together they opened up for Charlie Daniels and Juice Newton at the Sweet Water Café in Redondo Beach, CA.

Morningsong’s musical influences include such great talents as Bonnie Raitt, Rosanne Cash and Old Blues legend Buddy Guy. Shelley was a touring member of Robert Mirabal's "Music from a Painted Cave" presented by PBS Great Performances.

Native People Magazine says of Morningsong, "Her insightful self-composed tunes are delivered in a strong, soulful alto that imbues every tune with deep, compassionate feeling."

Shelley Morningsong would like to thank those that contributed to this new project with their hugely wonderful talents; Dawn Avery on Cello, Shane McConnell on guitar and slide guitar, Paul Fowler on keyboards, Fabian Fontenelle on percussion, rhythms, spoken word (Zuni language) and Larry Mitchell on guitar, bass, percussion.
