Little Milton – Live At Westville Prison

Little Milton was on the verge of debuting the penultimate blues anthem of the 1980s, “The Blues Is Alright” when this concert was recorded. The throng that packed Westville Correctional Center on January 14, 1983 definitely agreed that the blues was alright. Utilizing his tight rhythm section (led by keyboardist Lucky Peterson, now a star himself) Milton stuck to straight blues leavening the mood with an occasional soul sender. Driven by the need of the crowd Little Milton delivered an inspired performance — fortunately, it was one of those rare moments when it was captured on tape.
