Brief bio

Laurent was born and raised in Paris where he picked up the guitar at age 12. He moved to NYC in the Fall of 93. A year later, he recorded and co-produced his first Album with Gotham, 7-piece Funk/Jazz Band and then toured the States and Europe, opening for Ramsey Lewis and James Moody.

After studying with Mike Stern and Wayne Krantz, he formed his own Jazz projects and released his Debut Album in 2002 on the British Label String Jazz Circles, Live at 55 Bar.

In 2006, his second release Diverses on Evander Music features all originals which he arranged for a String and horn section. Laurent is a recipient of the “Mature Artists Grant” from A.E. Venture Foundation and The Acaplus Award.

Laurent made his Broadway Debut with the hit show RENT, in the Lead Guitar Chair, Winter 04/05.

He recently performed a sold-out Show at World-famous Jazz Club The Blue Note with Singer Andrew Suvalsky

His Latin Jazz Trio Latinamour entertains for The U.S Ambassador to the United Nations (for 5 consecutive years), Christie’s, The American Numismatic Society, Conde-Nast Corporation, The French Consulate in New York, etc…

Laurent is a recipient of A.E. Venture Foundation's Grant for Accomplished Artists and ASCAP's Ascaplus Award.
