Australia Hall of Famer and revered multi-platinum singer-songwriter Kasey Chambers has unveiled an exciting suite of forthcoming new material – kicking off with the announcement of her book Just Don’t Be A Dickhead (Hardie Grant Books, available October 1), the material informing and inspiring her new album Backbone (Metropolitan Groove Merchants, available October 4).

Kasey said, “I’ve just finished writing a book! I am beyond excited to be releasing it along with a brand-new album. The book is a collection of stories and experiences from my life that I’ve learnt from over the years. Some from humorous, embarrassing moments, some from deep, heartfelt memories that taught me unlikely things to consistently draw on along the way.”

Regarding the radio single, "Backbone (The Desert Child)" Kasey says "It's one of the glue songs that holds the whole album together and is reflective of the early years of my life; my childhood, growing up in the outback.

Hailed as bringing Australian country music into the mainstream, Kasey has won 14 ARIA’s, 24 CMAA Golden Guitars, 10 APRA songwriting awards; her 12 albums have sold more than 14 x platinum and include 5 x No.1 albums and her No.1 single Not Pretty Enough. In 2018 Kasey’s exceptional career was honoured by being the youngest female ever to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
