Kentucky-based bluegrass singer and multi-instrumentalist Jr Williams is out with a new album, Railroad Town, on Mountain Fever Records. This stellar new project is available now for radio broadcasting!

The album’s title is from the standout single and video release, “Railroad Town Without a Train,” written by Thomm Jutz and Tim Stafford featuring Jr.’s distinctive vocals. This popular tune appeared on Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine’s National Bluegrass Survey Top 30 Song Chart and Bluegrass Today’s Monthly and Weekly Song charts. The song thoughtfully tells the story of what’s left behind when the railroads pull out of towns.

Kentucky native Jr Williams has been entertaining audiences in award-winning bluegrass bands including Newtown and Newfound Road. For 36 years he has become known for his innovative banjo style, vocals, and his trademark humor. Jr began playing guitar and singing at age six, later mastering the banjo. In a featured interview with Banjo News, they wrote, “Good music can hit you hard and really get your attention with its raw emotion and power. That’s how Jr Williams’ banjo playing and singing struck me. Junior’s picking has substance and guts. He has great timing, so the notes are always in the right spots.”
