"GEQ" is a classic jazz ensemble who's music style is a reminder of the 'real' jazz ensembles of the late 40's and early 50's. Miles' and Trane's bands bared the classic three person rhythm section and two horns. To produce the same sound, Bandleader, Guymon Ensley has armed his group with that same instrumentation to perform a repertoire of his original works as well as the works written, performed and recorded by the legends of their time(s).
Additionally, GEQ takes it a step further with Guy's original works, leaning towards a jazz 'fusion' repertoire. But, abandoning 'real jazz,' GEQ does not, when finding twists of basic swing in each of his works.
